Our Story
At CopperSound, we believe a great pedal is more than just a box of components—it's an extension of your musical voice, a tool for creativity, and a key to unlocking new sonic possibilities. We're a small team of passionate builders with a big love for music and a deep appreciation for the artistry of sound. We want every musician who uses our devices to get the same goosebumps that made us risk it all and turn our passion into our career.
Our journey began in 2014, when our founder, Alex, started building pedals out of his garage in Easton, Massachusetts. What started as a hobby to teach himself a new skill quickly grew into something more. While working at a local music store, Alex made a pedal for his friend and co-worker, Jordan. Seeing this creation, Jordan immediately recognized its potential and knew that people would love it. Soon after, Alex, Jordan, and Tris joined forces, turning their passion into the boutique brand you know today.
From those humble beginnings, we’ve become a trusted name in the industry. We're honored to have our pedals used by musicians all over the world, from bedroom players to touring professionals, and to be a part of countless musical journeys.
Our passion for innovation has also led to incredible collaborations, including our work with Jack White on the Triplegraph. This unique digital octave and killswitch pedal, developed over four years of intense collaboration, is a testament to our commitment to pushing the boundaries of what's possible.
The DIY Spirit
The DIY spirit is at the heart of everything we do, and it’s a passion we love to share. We offer a range of DIY kits and tools that were born out of necessity in our own workshop. From our comprehensive Cir-Kit Bundles for educational breadboarding to complete DIY Pedal Kits, we provide the resources to deepen your understanding of the technology behind the tones you love.
The CopperSound Difference
What truly sets us apart is our diverse backgrounds. We're not just builders; we're engineers, songwriters, and producers who understand sound from every angle. We love the classic analog circuitry, but also embrace the modern era of digital production, blending both with a deep love for artistic engineering. This unique perspective allows us to blend classic analog warmth with modern, robust design. Every pedal is live-tested on our own boards and recorded in our own studios, ensuring it can withstand the rigors of the road and truly inspire your performance. This hands-on approach, combined with our meticulous hand-built and tested process in our Massachusetts workshop, guarantees a pedal that's not only sonically inspiring but also built to last a lifetime.
Thank you for being a part of our story. We hope our devices bring you inspiration and serve you well on your musical journey.
